about me
Hi! I'm Chey (pronounced like "shy").

I’m a UX/UI designer, illustrator, trinket collector, and serial hobby-dabbler. Chronically online since 1999. I first used a computer to make art in Microsoft Paint. My first internet search was for pictures of hamsters (I have been told that this is very on-brand for me). I used to print out walkthroughs from gameFAQs (with the ASCII art included, ofc).
I love cute things. I’m a firm believer in dopamine decor/dressing, so I do a lot of antiquing/thrifting. I love folklore and cryptids, and I believe in ghosts even though I’ve never seen one (maybe I will accidentally buy a haunted item someday). I easily get lost in wiki-based rabbit holes.

about the site
Blue Meadows' name is inspired by the overworld theme ‘Blue Fields,’ from one of my favorite games!
You can listen to it here on Youtube.
This website is ~amateurly~ coded in HTML/CSS and is always improving. You can’t view it on your hot pink Motorola Razr V3 (read: it's NOT mobile-friendly), but care is taken to make sure it’s accessible through color contrast, text legibility, & alt text.
In the 2000s, a lot of young folks coming of age were learning to code through MySpace, GeoCities, Neopets, etc. From 2005–2010, I spent most of my free time learning to code HTML/CSS so that I could run a fansite for my favorite books series. It sparked my love for graphic/web design, and now I have a career in the field (and am shaped like a shrimp when I sit at my desk 🦐).
I'm incredibly nostalgic for those early internet days—you could make friends from around the world, and updating those friends once a week on your blog felt like the most important thing in the world. During those years, the world wide web was a funner and more personal place.
So, in 2025, I decided to revive my hobby from 20 years ago (!!!) by coding my own website and running this silly little blog. I want to keep this website as a Y2K time capsule as much as possible (highly personalized!! slightly buggy!! generally silly!!), and share things that bring me joy: like curating my collections, my art projects, my love for food/music/books, and my thoughts. I hope you find something here that sparks your own creativity.
Welcome to my pixel playground in this little corner of the world wide web!
